The Hudson River Estuary is roughly 5 feet above sea level in downtown
Troy. The tide ebbs and flows in the estuary all the way from the ocean to
the federal dam in Troy, NY. Here we see an example of the artificial river
banks that allow boats to dock—but increase the amount of storm produced
runoff that enters the river carrying pollutants from streets and
parking lots.
