ground and the attacker took to the skies - giving up, for the moment, a sizeable feast. The body of the hawk seemed heavier than the duck, the duck was slightly longer of neck and wingspan. As quiet returned, three smaller ducks swam out from cover and joined what I can only presume was their mother. This was what we came to see - nature raw and unfiltered, the interaction of all creatures - both peacefully serene and filled with primal violence. It was but one brief moment in a span of 11 days - but it will stay with me for a long while.
