An abandoned railroad bridge across the Mohawk River, where it joins the
Hudson at the south end of Van Schaick Island, appears appropriately
ghostly in an early morning fog. Some day the bridge may be rehabilitated
to carry a bike path from Green Island into Cohoes. For now the railroad
ties and wooden vehicle lane rot away and fall into the river.
